Another Mini-Challenge- TEAMS :)
So as you might know from my post yesterday I'm participating in Princess Bookie's Contest Craze (running until April 10th) if you haven't checked it out by now you really should. :)
So today's challenge is about Teams, so I decided to tell you not only about 1 but about 2 Teams. Here we go:
The Mortal Instruments: I'm sure almost every one of you knows this series, I mean it's pretty awesome so if you haven't read it by now: DO IT! The 2 Teams are Team Jace or Team Simon, well I have to say I'm Team Jace all the way, he cannot only be badass but also really sweet and he protects Clary no matter what. Of course I like Simon but I always have problems with teaming up with the best friend of the MC, because I, too, have some really good buddies and I could never imagine going out with one of them, because they are like brothers to me, so yeah I always have a hard-time with the love triangle that involves the best friend(as nice and sweet he might be), I just can't relate to it. (Same with Puck and Ash from The Iron King, Team Ash FTW (plus he has a darn good reason to be bad ass and not let anybody get in touch with him, so yeah xD)
But besides the Teams which I can choose pretty fast, there is one (until now) which I just canNOT decide who to Team up with. And this Teams are Team Ren and Team Shay from Nightshade (you might know this already because of my review :D). So why can't I decide? Well both of the guys have their good and bad qualities, while Shay tries to help Calla and respects her personal space (not like Ren :P) and is really sweet, but he also seems very pushy and I don't like that, and then there's Ren, who can be a total ass, but then he's the sweetest cupcake in the world. When I read the synopsis of Nightshade I was pretty sure I would side with Shay, because I wouldn't like to be forced to marry anyone because others tell me to, so um yeah I was really confident that I would Team up with Shay, but then you find: hey Ren's not too bad either, and the misery begins. xD
So my dear peeps tell me: which Team are you on and why? And if you've read Nightshade which Team did you choose?
Hugs from Germany :)

My most anticipated upcoming book(well one of them :D)
Well my dear friends this is an entry for Princess Bookie's Contest Craze (you should really check out her blog, I mean after all she's got cupcakes in her layout :D).
It was really hard to decide which book is my most
anticipated but after thinking about it long enough I came to a conclusion: It's Vanish by Sophie Jordan and it's the second book in the Firelight series. I absolutely loved Firelight and the end of book one just makes me want to read Vanish ASAP! I felt so bad for Jacinda and really want to know what's going to happen to her plus the covers are just gorgeous! And not to forget the summary of Vanish sounds awesome and I kinda have the feeling
that I'll suffer through the story together with Jacinda. Another reason why I want it is the fact that Jacinda is a DRAKI! The books a nice break from all the Werewolves,Vampires,Fairies, etc. and let's face it Dragons are just awesomesauce! The only thing is: I just can't imagine Jacinda shifting into dragon form or how that dragon would look like because the image in my head is a cute little Dragon with small feet waddeling around like a duck xD
something like that:
well just with wings :D, but I also think that Jacinda can be very badass.
If I had a time machine I so would go forward to September, when Vanish is released because I cannot wait to read it, I already feel Jacinda's heartbreak. :( (yeah I know I'm weird sometimes)
So here's the summary, but I would recommend only reading it if you already read Firelight or if you're just plain curious, because in my opinion the Vanish summary makes you curious about what happened in Firelight :) (and it makes me curious why her hair is suddenly blonde and not red? hmmm questions over questions, which I cannot wait to be answered , seriously if someone feels like d
oing something really nice for me in the future, this is a hint! xD)
Summary: To save the life of the boy she
loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.
Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?In bestselling author Sophie Jordan’s dramatic follow-up to Firelight, forbidden love burns brighter than ever.
Happy Weekend to ya'll :)

OMGLEEK
So how excited were you about last nights episode of Glee? Well I was super duper excited! Why? Because they did original songs and what can I say I LOVE the song Loser like me, it's the perfect anthem! And I mean who hasn't had someone telling you that you would never achieve a certain goal or gives you a weird look just because you're not like everyone else? So this song is perfect! I especially love the line: I'll get you back when I'm your boss :P
well actually all of the lyrics is inspiring (yup it inspired me) for just being who you are and telling off all the haters. :) (A big Hurray on being proud to be a g(L)eek!)
Another song I loved was the duet by Kurt and Blaine, who covered Candles by Hey Monday a song I absolutely adore.
One thing made me go really mad though: There is a scene of the Jury room and the conservative Judge (who obviously should portrait the stereo type of extreme conservative people, but still) she said that The Warblers would send the wrong message, because in her opinion "Being gay is not OK" and my dear readers let me tell you BEING GAY IS DEFINITELY OK! It doesn't matter who you love (Yes, Lady GaGa is so darn right with her song Born this way) So you're a guy who likes guys or a girl who likes girls SO WHAT? I don't get why some people are getting all upset about it, it's not like gay people have a disease or something like that, all they want is to be accepted and loved for who they are and I think it would make the world so much better if all these gay-hating people would finally start to accept them and not go bonkers over it! (after all there are some people who commit suicide, because they're gay and can't deal with the hate they get from some people) And, yes, I do have gay friends, so when I found out about them being gay it sure was a big change, BUT they're still my friends and it didn't change my way of thinking about them, we're still as close as before. So when I hear how some people gossip about it and get mean I just want to yell at those gossipers and urrgh! (I mean do they really think that they are better than everyone else?) It makes me mad!
But back to Glee: yes the woman was meant to be parodistic and you could actually smile about the waaaay to extreme statements she made), and the nun was just hillarious, because she was all "Oh hell no you assaulting woman, you did NOT just say that! xD And I also like that Glee in general is dealing with the problems of Kurt (I just love his relationship with Blaine it's sooooo cute!). Well I really loved this episode of Glee (yes I know that I repeated myself xD)
So you can expect a review of Inside Out over the weekend, because I just have to promote this book because of it's awesomeness :D
Hugs from Germany! :)

Let's talk Mockingjay
So um I just finished the whole Hunger Games trilogy and I just need to type my feelings about it right now or otherwise they would eat me up! Well let's start with The Hunger Games: I loved this book so much the action in it was awesome and it was well paced i just couldn't put it down and it's definitely on my personal Must Read List, on which are the books I practically make my friends read xD. So after reading The Hunger Games I just HAD to read Catching Fire and again I was not disappointed, but something just itched me about it, I just can't put my finger on what exactly it was. And the there is Mockingjay well.....I also stayed up all night reading because I was eager to know the end and if Katniss would choose Peeta or Gale but along the way to the end some things just didn't quite fit with me like the fact that even though Katniss doesn't know which boy to choose she still goes around kissing both, leading them on instead of getting a little space from them and think about it. Another MAJOR point was that from the beginning of the book Katniss looses all the strength she has during Book 1 and 2 instead of being the strong independent woman we get to meet and love she now hardly makes her own decisions and get's forced into everything without trying to protest against it, although she always says how she doesn't want to be playing games of the others. It's exactly what she does, gone is her rebellious spirit and she's like a puppet. Then I missed all the action going on in The Hunger Games and Catching Fire, of course there were the bloody fights and sure there was action BUT as soon as the action reaches it's boiling point Katniss somehow always blacks out and awakes at the hospital. The end of the book seems way too rushed and there a 2 deaths which really bother me and weren't even necessary but I'm not spoiling it by saying who dies. Well ok just highlight this area in which I rant about the 2 deaths:( So first of all Finnick why did he have to die after everything he's already been through and after finally starting to have a life? and then there's Prim it was a crucial, waaaay to fast death and i don't thin necessary but maybe that's just my opinion). In the end there are a few pages where I actually hate Katniss ( yeah I'm talking bout right after she said yes to the last Hunger Games where they would send the kids from the capitol, I mean come on those are kids they are not responsible for the war PLUS you all should know better how it feels to have somebody you love in that arena. Oh and wasn't it always the main reason to stop the capitol, because you hated the Hunger Games???). And then there is the end: Again Katniss can't even decide who she wants to be with she just kinda ends up with HIM, because he was there and the other one wasn't. It just was too shallow for me and I wish Katniss would've just thought everything through!
All in all I really recommend reading these books because Book 1 is just sheer awesomeness and if there would be a rating with more than 5 stars on goodreads.com I'd give it a loooot more. Suzanne Collins is a remarkable writer and knows exactly how to keep a reader glued to a book, her writing is great and she knows how to build up the action so you just can't keep away from reading the books! Catching Fire, too is a great book, not as good as the first one but still satisfying. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of the third one, I'll tell you that you just can't help yourself: You have to read it because you SO want to know how it all ends and if you did I'd love for you to come back here and tell me what you thought of Mockingjay and on what parts you just can't agree with me. :)
Hugs from Germany!

If I Stay...feelings after reading it
Well first of all the summary: (taken from goodreads.com)
In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck...
A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make—and the ultimate choice Mia commands.
WOW! That's all I can say right now. This book...I just can't find the right words to describe it. I loved it, it "tug on my heartstrings" as some might say. And I'm not exaggerating the whole mood was sad, but in between there are the flashback's Mia has, remembering event's, which were important in her life and through which she tries to decide wether to wake up from her coma or if she should go, leave her life, her best friend, her love, the rest of her family.
So after the accident Mia is like a ghost wandering beside her body, seeing everything that happens around her and remembering past events, trying to make a decision about her life.
I loved Mia's and Adam's relationship, it seemed real and not forced, Mia isn't the kind of girl to gush over a guy, which is a nice change in between all the: "OMG he's like so perfect, and like so gorgeous, even though I don't know him I'm like totally in love."
I also enjoyed Mia's and Kim's friendship even though it had a bumpy start, it grew over the years and again it didn't seemed like: "ok every protagonist needs a friend let's just throw someone in" I could relate to it, to the conversations they had and to the things Kim did, because of Mia.
There were moments were I was about to tear up, but then I told myself: natalie don't cry, keep it together, blah, blah, blah well that was until different people come in to visit Mia and to tell her why she should or shouldn't stay and that it's all her decision wether to stay or to go. Yeah I teared up like a waterfall and while I'm thinking about it right now (20 minutes after finishing the book) I still get teary eyed! So all in all I think tears were rolling down for over a hundred pages and every time I thought I got a hold of myself there was another scene, which teared me up again and again. I think this was the first time ever for me crying while reading a book, actually I think the only time I ever cried about a story was while watching Titanic. The scene where the old couple lays on the floating bed hugging and the man giving his wife a kiss before going to sleep forever, just get's me almost every time!
But back to the book: It definitely is a must read! It broke my heart, but also made me fall in love with the characters. It made me wonder what will Mia choose, and it also made me question: What if I would be in this situation: would I stay or would I go?
Even though I don't get why USA Today says on the cover that "It will appeal to fans of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight". I mean the stories don't have anything similar about them, and no not even the love story, because Bella and Edward can't compare to Mia and Adam, because Mia and Adam's relationship seems to have more depth, but that's just my opinion.
So if you like a good story go and read 'If I Stay' plus: the second book called 'Where She Went' is coming out April 5th and I'm counting down the days!
I'd rate it 5 out of 5 points! :)
